This Skill Set, often known as the Food Safety Supervisor (Levels 1 & 2 combined) course, is tailored for the hospitality, transport, and distribution sectors. It provides a comprehensive overview of the roles and responsibilities of a Food Safety Supervisor, encompassing the entire food safety process and the critical steps needed to ensure the safe handling of food at all times. Participants are required to demonstrate their practical skills and knowledge of food safety procedures through a third-party observation form. Assessments can be conducted in any food handling environment, such as commercial kitchens, catering production lines, or food preparation areas equipped with industry-standard facilities. Observations can be made at a participant's workplace or through volunteer roles at community centres, sports clubs, or local councils. Please note: Students must either be employed or secure a volunteer position at a workplace that can provide a third-party observer. This observer is responsible for witnessing and documenting the student’s practical performance using a third-party report form. IMPORTANT: This Skill Set does not lead to the issuance of a NSW Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certificate. If you work in NSW and require a NSW FSS Certificate, it is recommended that you complete the NSW-specific Food Safety Supervisor course. Certificates for this course are also issued by Allens Training Pty Ltd, RTO 90909.
